Nicoletta Andreuccetti is an Italian composer of acoustic and electronic contemporary works. She studied piano at the Music Conservatory of Cagliari, electronic music at the Music Conservatory of Florence and composition with M. Bonifacio and A. Solbiati at the Civica Scuola di Musica Claudio Abbado of Milan. She specialized with K. Bogino for the piano and Ivan Fedele for the composition at the Accademia Musicale Pescarese, attending also master classes with H. Dufourt B. Mantovani, S. Sciarrino.
She has enriched her musical training developing a variety of interests ranging from musicology to aesthetic and psychology of music. She is currently a PhD candidate in Musicology at the University of Toulouse (France). Her research work focuses on the application of physical modelling synthesis to the compositional practices.
In 2009, she won the 1st prize at the International Electroacoustic Music Competition Musica Nova in Prague with S’i fosse foco II, for female voice and electronics, which was recorded by Barbara Zanichelli for Nova Music Edition. In March 2012, she won the 1st prize at the Utrecht Dutch Harp Composition Contest with Mouvements selected, also, for the International Gaudeamus Music Week 2012 and performed by Gwyneth Wentink. The 56th Festival of Contemporary Music of the Biennale di Venezia (2012) has commissioned to her Figurazioni dell’invisibile for Architecture Sonora’s sound interactive installation. In May 2013, she was composer in residence in the Steinhardt Department of Music and Performing Arts at New York University for the realization of Dall’oscuro II, for bass clarinet and live electronics, performed at the Frederick Loewe Theatre in New York. In the same year, in collaboration with the artist Nicholas Naughton, has participated with her work Shadows at the multimedia installation Disaster of War in The New Horizons Music Festival at the University Art Gallery of Truman State University, USA (Missouri). For the project Alla Battaglia! (2014), in collaboration with Umbra Lucis Ensemble and the RSI (Radio-Television Italian Switzerland broadcast), she wrote Del Visibile dell’Invisibile inspired by the lost Leonardo Da Vinci’s fresco on the battle of Anghiari, for six voices and fifteen renaissance instruments.

Nicoletta Andreuccetti - Composer

Nicoletta Andreuccetti è una compositrice italiana di musica contemporanea acustica ed elettronica. Ha studiato pianoforte al Conservatorio di Musica di Cagliari, musica elettronica al Conservatorio di Musica di Firenze e composizione con M. Bonifacio e A. Solbiati alla Civica Scuola Claudio Abbado di Milano. Parallelamente, si è perfezionata con K. Bogino per il pianoforte e con Ivan Fedele per la composizione all’Accademia Musicale Pescarese e ha frequentato masterclass con H. Dufourt, B. Mantovani, S. Sciarrino.
Nicoletta Andreuccetti ha arricchito la sua formazione musicale coltivando una molteplicità di interessi che vanno dalla musicologia all’estetica e alla psicologia della musica. Attualmente, sta completando il dottorato di ricerca in musicologia all’Università di Tolosa dedicato all’applicazione della sintesi per modelli fisici alle pratiche compositive.
Nel 2009, ha vinto il primo premio assoluto all’International Electroacoustic Music Competition Musica Nova in Prague con S’i fosse foco II, per voce femminile ed elettronica, inciso da Barbara Zanichelli per Nova Music Edition. Nel marzo del 2012, ha vinto il primo premio assoluto all’Utrecht Dutch Harp Composition Contest con Mouvements anche selezionato per l’International Gaudeamus Music Week 2012 con l’esecuzione di Gwyneth Wentink. Il LVI Festival di Musica Contemporanea la Biennale di Venezia (2012) le ha commissionato Figurazioni dell’invisibile per l’installazione interattiva di Architecture Sonora. Nel Maggio del 2013, è stata composer in residence allo Steinhardt Department of Music and Performing Arts at New York University per la realizzazione di Dall’oscuro II, per clarinetto basso e live electronics, eseguito al Frederick Loewe Theatre in New York. Nello stesso anno, in collaborazione con l’artista Nicholas Naughton, ha partecipato con il suo lavoro Shadows all’installazione multimediale Disaster of War in The New Horizons Music Festival at the University Art Gallery of Truman State University, USA (Missouri). Per il progetto Alla Battaglia! (2014) in collaborazione con Umbra Lucis Ensemble e la RSI (Radio-Televisione Svizzera italiana) ha scritto Del Visibile dell’Invisibile, brano ispirato all’affresco perduto della Battaglia di Anghiari di Leonardo Da Vinci, per sei voci e quindici strumenti rinascimentali.
